My buddy is slowly passing

My dog bandit whom we've had for 11 years had a heart attack and is on many medications. He just follows me around the house and can't even jump in the car anymore. He is half Husky and half Australian Shepard and beyond smart and energetic. We used to hike, backpack and swim all the time. I am struggling with the quality of life issue. I want him to be around, but, I don't want him to suffer either. His tail never stops wagging, even now and everybody loves the Bandit. He lets little kids hang onto his tail and he pulls them around. They call him Band-Aid the dog

Allen:
I am so sorry to hear about you buddy. We are going through the same thing with our senior kitty, which we have had for 16 years. Tomorrow we take him for his final trip.
You must know when it's time to let him go. It won't be easy, it never will be.
You and your buddy are in our thoughts.

Bandit is in my thoughts... Why the hell can't dogs live as long as parrots?

If the tail wags, then there is life.

Look into his eyes, and he will tell you it's ok when it's time. You will know from that.
