You need a large Crockpot for this...
I love this brisket recipe...
(Other meats will do for sub)
For smaller crockpots just do one layer..
I get a BIG piece of beef brisket. I cut in in half and sear/brown both sides of both halfs in a skillet...
Put aside...
Then I put a bunch of onions coarsely chopped on the bottom of the Crockpot.
A can of Stewed Tomatoes on top of the Onions. Some red pepper flakes on top of the tomatoes...
Add one piece of meat about the size of the pot opening...
Repeat... Onions, Stewies, Flakies, Brisket...
Fresh black pepper...
Smashed garlic cloves tossed in... Herbs, Worcestershire...
Cover with bouillon cube chicken broth and cook for a bunch of hours...
The bouillon has salt so don't over-do it with extra added salt...
When the meat totally surrenders, serve the meat sliced cross grain, tomatoey broth, and onions
in a bowl with creamy cheesed-herbed polenta... (easy)
The meat-broth-polenta combo is from Pluto!
It'll remind you of the best home cooking you ever had.
