One of my favorites, I think it was a runaway plane that did the damage...

Runaway plane or suspected drug courier? I've HEARD that drugs were found in the cabin and more were suspected to be hidden throughout the airframe, leading to a "chainsaw search."
Just what I've HEARD. I hear a lot of things .

Or at least to use a low wing aircraft if you do.

I heard the same thing about the 'chainsaw' incident. The only problem here is that the story about the chainsaw is not true.
The aircraft that was sliced belongs to the University of South Australia (not a private individual), and if you look at the rear of the right engine in other pictures, you can see impact damage....not commensurate with what a chainsaw is capable of doing. Also, those cuts are too evenly spaced, and too neatly, vertically aligned.
Cheers,

A chainsaw chain would never survive that.
