good 2m mobile or dual band
Looking for a good 2m or maybe a dual band, had a Yaesu dual band a few years ago, but it must have had 50 menu pages built into it.
Anyone have any sugguestions for a good 2m mobile? Any that dont have a fan ? Thanks

I think I've had the best luck with the Kenwood 2m mobile series. All will eventually break though...too much wear 'n tear in a car environment.

Sorry I posted a reference to a thread on HTs in response to your mobile question.
I have a Yaseau FT-90R dual band mobile which I really like: http://www.yaesu.com/indexVS.cfm?cmd...=0,Description
However, it doesn't look like it is made anymore. I would guess other similar dual banders would be as good as this radio and as intuitive to operate.

I got a Yeasu FT2400 I've had for about 10 years. It spent 6 years bouncing around the Australian Outback and was in a single vehicle rollover that destroyed my truck.
I'd buy another Yeasu in a heartbeat.

Mobiles,
that is a hard choice I am "testing 4 in my truck now".
My favorite would have to be the dualbander Kenwood TMD700. The radio has the built in TNC for aprs. I also have the keyboard kit for the radio. I have plugged a small wireless keyboard into the kit so now I can type emails and aprs messages easier.

I like icom's.
I have a dual band ic-2340H. Had it for years. Had it in my truck for years. Have beat it to death. Still works great.
Now have it in the ham shack and a ic-2100H in the truck. It works great also.
I'm a happy camper.

Icom IC-208H a very good dual band mobile for the money. got a number of friends who have it and like the size...small..and the quality and high power too...I dont recommend single band mobiles for they dont offer the functions what yu get for dualband mobiles such as wideband recieve and scanner capabilities not much more than a single band you get two bands and twice as much talking possibilities. That is my input and recommendation.
Good Luck. kevin N1KGM;f
