...I had some orthopedic work done, several years ago, @ the Ft Lewis, WA hopsital.
My room mate, for about a week while I recovered, was a gentlemen who was a "raider" or so professed to be. He had some "heart" work done.
..though I have forgotten his name, suspect he is still in the Tacoma/Seattle area.
He was a tough old bird. He got up to go to the head, and accidently pulled out one of the IVs he had in him. Being on blood thinners, he was shooting blood all over the room.
...I couldn't get out of bed to help him (ie I still had some anti-shock trousers on and a couple cathiders in me also)..rang the nurse, no response..so talked him through sitting down and putting direct pressure on the bleeder w/a bed sheet.
..an X-ray tech, coming down the hall to take pictures of my chest, heard us both yelling for help..and fetched the staff.
..they came several minutes later.
The staff had to move me out of the room, to take the x-rays...as there was so much blood on the walls and the floor, they couldn't get the mobile x-ray machine in the room w/out causing more of a mess.
He made it through,..as I checked on him several days later. They had moved him down the hall..closer to the chief nurse station.
...would like to talk to him myself, if you run him down.
Best of luck in your search,
Jay
