From your overly extensive computer skills and knowledge I would guess that you are using Internet Explorer. ( I am not trying to flame you, just haveing a little fun ) When you what to go to the web, do you click on the blue e on your desktop? If so you are using internet explorer. You have downloaded Google Toolbar and when you installed it it defaulted your homepage to
www.google.com. OK that's out of the way.
I have not used Internet Explorer extensivly for some time now so my knowledge is also a little rusty. I would guess that you have a setting in there that tells your browser to open links in the same window. Glocktalk tries to open links in a new window. This probably is a conflict with Internet Explorer and Google Toolbar. The toolbar is probably seeing it as a pop-up.
Those are just guesses without actually seeing the problem.
Next suggestion. Stop using Internet Explorer. You can use other web browsers and do the same thing. The one that I have recently tried and really like so far is Mozzilla Firefox. No doubt you may have seen threads on the subject on this forum before. Here is the link to that.

There are others too. Netscape, Opera, ... someone else chime in here. I don't know all the browsers names but there are many of them and most of them are free to download.
