Cannot Display Page
I have recently been getting alot of these errors ("cannot display page") I have manipulated some of my security settings but since I have not had theses probs. before I found that it made no difference..Any suggs. I am using IE 6.0...and No I don't need the dump IE advise..

can you ping the pages you want to get to?
Start/Run/ CMD or command/ hit Ok
Ping www.whatever.com
if you get a responce then you know you are reaching the site.

I am able to get to the main site..for example... I can get to the hotmail.com site but when I go to "sign in", the sign in page displays the error message???
Cannot find server or DNS Error

You may have been hijacked or have a virus. Try the various removal tools like Hijack This, CWShredder, Spybot S&D, ect.

Definitely infected. Clean the spyware off, repair the damaged files (if necessary). Rinse, repeat.

if you have a firewall running..disable it.
if not look at your lan settings: tools,internet options,connections,lan seetings...there should be no marks checked under lan..if yes...uncheck then apply.
maybe you need a windows update or one of your recently installed updates jammed things up~~ this is fairly common:(
