I think it is no problem. You can always fit or interchange most 1911 parts. The only thing here is to have a good fit from one of the country's better gunsmiths (sino kaya iyon).

Its not for IPSC, so I wouldn't worry about the size.
I was looking at getting the long slide and maybe a 400 corbon barrel.
For what practical use, I still don't know.

A long slide barrel in a BIG caliber is a nice and intimidating weapon of destruction (ala movie voice over). ;f

great for hunting or bullseye shooting.

Unfortunately, it's also slow to point and slow to cycle

I agree on that Allegra. hey, the guy wants a long slide (maybe for the aesthetics or just the feel of it). he just asked if the Para can fit a long slide and he's not into IPSC either.

didn't hold back Robbie Leatham at last years Factory gun Nationals. He used a 6 in. single stack spingfield to win L 10.

I think that's a workable setup. Personally, I'd like to try one myslef if only for the simple reason of trying one out.

As for slide speed, try it out stock. If it feels sluggish, lighten it with holes.

One thing about it though is the recoil spring. You'd be hard-pressed to find one for the 6" locally. So have your smith custom make you a reverse plug that'll work with springs for a 5" slide.
