Even the Dems downstate are against the "RahmTax". Just remember to keep bugging your congressman aboout it, & attend IGOLD if you can.
The only one really for it is Rahm himself. And his normal cronies.
Chicago just can't/won't accept the fact that the Suprerme Court slammed the city's peepee in the door on the McDonald case !
Time to slam harder !

Heck been a precinct captain for 20 years, just never thought it would get worse. Especially with 49 states proving different. The problem with Illinois is, you can personally meet the candidates and they don't call em politicians for nuthin. The minute they are in office and have control your at their mercy. God knows whats on the real agenda. Been told some doozies, felt like crap after helping em..... Pffft. Power and greed is a strange aminal.

Listen up, you 10-Ring troglodytes! (pardon my redundancy) The Dungeon Linguistics Unit found a good one today in Norman Chad's newspaper column:

Suppose the BCS went to a 4-team football playoff setup. Wouldn't that be unfair to the 5th-place SEC team?

The whole system is a fraud anyway, and an ill-disguised one at that !
Let's legalize betting on college games and then we REALLY get to see who's best !

Unkle, would it affect your outlook if you knew the Dungeon Embezzlement Team, acting as the administrative agent for the 10-Ring operation, was set up to get our 39% cut of the TV revenue for whatever games the BCS management morons (pardon my redundancy) finally decide to try? (We passed up going for a cut of game ticket sales; too much hassle on the distribution side).

Rabbi, I merely made a statement of fact......
Our profitability does not change that fact; It neither enhances or diminishes that fact.
As long as we get our 39%, facts are merely that, not opinions.

But if the gambling was legalised, we could possibly get into more markets. If the 39% was of a LARGER pie........

IMPORTANT DUNGEON ADMINISTRATIVE NOTIFICATION

Solar flares may disrupt GPS function on Friday. Since a Friday in the 10-Ring Facility is a major party day, the Dungeon Admin Peons are taking action to prevent any inconvenience to the minimally coherent 10-Ringers (pardon my redundancy):

Dungeon guides will be posted at important locations within the 10-Ring Resort to assist 10-Ringers floating from one debauched party to another.

On important transit routes within the complex, the Dungeon people will rig guide ropes to facilitate inter-party transit. One such guide rope will be oriented toward walking traffic; another will be placed about a foot off the floor to assist 10-Ringers suffering from any transient mobility issues. We will maintain a lookout for anyone needing assistance exceeding these measures.

We shall provide admin and logistics support to 10-Ringers wishing to organize a dedicated "Solar Flare Celebration" party. We leave determination of theme and details to the 10-Ring participants in such an event.

Rabbi, most of the faithful have a homing instinct to locate parties that is so strong it would take a Supernova of our own Sun to disrupt it.
In which case the beer would get warm & REALLY piss people off.
We would need to consult with Engineer151515 about air conditioning in this event.....

Your homing instinct observation is noted; it is possible the Dungeon planning types did not take it into proper account.

One other item DOES come to mind, though: the consequences of the end of the Mayan calendar on December 21. Even if the world does NOT implode on that date, the possible reversal of the earth's polarity might foul up the finely honed instinct you have mentioned. Perhaps research of this possibility would be in order.

We will get Eng15etc to work on contingency plans for keeping the beer the proper temperature during the duration of any solar supernova.

Therewas some recent mention of the fact that the world has been on the "Leap Year System" for so long that the year of the Myan calendar ending would have already past! Time to celebrate!

The finest celebration is the retroactive celebration!

Another scenarieo:

What if the Mayan disaster that is forthcoming is actually a forcast of a solar flare that is so large as to destroy refrigeration as we know it !
Worldwide warm beer....will we all turn British ?
GAWD........now THAT would be a disaster !

Gentlemen.
And distinguished Ladies.

I reviewed this topic during my friday afternoon massage. . . errr. . . . team building session with the new Dungeon Engineering Interns. they quickly reminded me that the background temperature of space is on the order of 3 degrees K. We should be able to meet any refrigeration needs with a low orbit application which, as an added benefit, would make a zero gravity party zone available to the distinguished Condo personnel

Your dedication to team building does honor to the Dungeon administrative apparatus. The Dungeon financial types have allocated a supplemental appropriation allocation to enable you to expand (in a manner of speaking) your afternoon massag ... whoops! .. your team building sessions ... to three times a week. Remember: always recruit the finest available personnel for such duty; economizing on such important matters is more the common-rabble-9-and-40-shooter speed.
