Help with pictures on my computer

I have a sony digi that I download pics on my computer. When I post them on the net, an entire album shows up with arrows for scrolling and all. Not only don't I want the WWW. to see all my pictures but the album is always "added" to while online, always with pornography. How do I save a single picture to put online without the entire album or any options. Thanks for the replies in advance. I did it once but I forgot and I know little abpout computers. Also, while I'm in Tech Talk, I'm having problems with links. I think it's a windows problem but here it goes: when I click a link, I get an hour glass, then nothing. On the lower, left bar, it usually says JAVA SCRIPT ERROR and I get a window that pops up that says THIS PAGE HAS ERRORS DO YOU WANT TO CONTINUE RUNNING SCRIPTS? Help please.

Red,
I am no expert here but since no one else jumped in...
when you connect the camera to the confuser it should ask you where you want your pics??
Something along the lines of C:\blahblah\mydocuments\my pics\
and if you dont like that option a "browse" button similar to the on on here to upload pics should be close by. Hitting the browse button allows you to put them where ever you want. Most beginners use the desktop by the way just cause its easiest.
I am going to try and take a guess at the error on links
I would start out downloading Java from their site and see if that helps out any...
http://java.com/en/index.jsp

I hope this helps and if not hang in there, one of the geeks(affectionately) should be along shortly. What would we do without those guys? ;f

Okay, I'll take a shot at it too...

For the script errors, change to Mozilla Firefox

Assuming you're using Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options...
Click on the last tab "Advanced"
Check the box for "Disable script debugging"
Uncheck the box for "Display a notification for every script error"

I don't really understand your problems with the pictures. What software/website are you using to publish your photo albums? Is this a website provided by your internet service provider or is this like a Snapfish photo album? Are you using something like Kodak EasyShare software? (If so, uninstall it and use Windows XP's native PnP capabilities for cameras.) You may need to resize the images before posting them or create some sort of thumbnails page (IrfanView - a favorite in the Tech Talk forum, can create the thumbnails and the HTML pages for you). Also, what did you mean about the porn?

I hope this is helpful.

Joey

Thanks guys. I realized I had an option when I was saving the pictures to my computer that I always just hit NEXT right through. I'm still having the java script errors and I can't click on those links in their site! So very frustrating.

Duh, sorry Red, my bad,
Try cutting and pasting the link in a new window.
If that doesnt work google "Java", should be one of the first to show up.

G20man - Thanks for the helping hand man. I swear this pisses me off bad! I can't pull up a profile, p.m., e-mail or any other link below. That's how it is, some work, others won't! If you send me an e-mail with the info, I'd appreciate it. This problem is really hampering my internet surfing. Also, anytime my firewall prompts me for a pop-up and I accept, my comp. does it's hissy fit routine and I need to open a new window and start over. Trying to click on smily's here also freezes it up.

The 'java aspect' caught my eye, so I thought I'd mention the following:

read over at dsl forums that there is a Sun Java vulnerability. A new version (1.4.2_5) has been released which corrects this. Here's the thread which has a link to download the new version:

and also:
Quote:
Microsoft has published a list of the changes made to IE in XP Service Pack 2 that may affect web pages that use certain features. The full article can be found here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/security/d...l/xpsp2web.asp

You should be concerned if you use:
- ActiveX controls: the modal dialog will no longer popup automatically. Users must specifically click on the pageholder to install controls
- Downloadable Files: The file download ability can only be initiated by a user click. Pages that say "your download will begin in 10 seconds" and have an ad before launching the file will now fail. - Unless the web developer fix it right away!
- Popup Windows: These may now only be initiated by a user action, not automatically, and only one popup will be created based on that user action... so a popup cannot spawn a popup, even if the original was spawned by a click.
- MS Java Virtual Machine: This is no longer distributed. Users should go to java.sun.com. And install.
- Browser Windows Alterations: You can no longer do a fullscreen window, it will only launch a maximized window. You can no longer move the statusbar, titlebar or toolbar off of the visible screen.
