this is what i have used since i had to take home-ec in high school.

1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. milk
1/4 c. cornmeal
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. sugar

Mix together all ingredients. Dip wieners in the batter and fry in hot oil until brown.

Pretty basic but it works for me. Some times i get a lil nutty and add chopped jalopeno peppers to the batter then dip.

Glad you started this ALLAN. Just this morning I was thinking the same thing except I wanted to use cheese on the stick instead of a hotdog. I did have a place close by called corndog-7 and they served these and they were great. I think I could buy a slab of cheese and cut strips about the size of a hotdog and try it. So any good batters would also help me. ;Y

Man, we used to have a "Corndog-7" at one of our local malls. They had the best corn dogs. Too bad they had to close up after a few years. If anyone has one of these close to you, go and get a corn dog. You will not regret it.

Bunch of physics....lol
Actually what I want to make is cheese corns. There use to be corn dog places here in DFW, but they are all gone. I always got the cheese corns.

Thanks for the recipe. I lost the one I had before.

Save yourself some time, pick up a box of Jiffy cornbread mix, works great.......
