What is the "GLOCK" of motorcycles?

Harleys are like 1911's (money pits).
What is the Glock of motorcycles?

I'd say

I'd say a Honda Valkyrie - Flat 6, 100 hp, 100 lbs of Torque and just about bullet proof. One caveat, never ride one or you'll be addicted. Big, fast, dependable and nimble for the size. Can you tell, my favorite and MC of choice.

Yes, we all have our opinions.

I've had 3 Harleys (so far), but only 1 Glock (so far).

Any of the Honda inline 4 cylinders (CB750, for example) is the Glock of motorcycling...

Kawasaki

The Kawasaki Z Bike (KZ####)Family is the 'Glock' of motorcycles. Simple, straightforwards, userfriendly, good, solid fit and finish, and most importantly, rock steady. Just like a Glock: Drop it, run it over, submerge it, run it dry, keeps ticking!

One of those old BMW boxers, with the VW-like opposed twin cylinder engines. Unlike most other bikes whose engines burn out after 15k miles, they went for 50k - 100k miles.

Exellent choice!! I have a red 2002 VTX 1800r2 and love it. One problem you will never be able to say your finished customizing it. A good place for info and ideas is the VTX Owners Assoc. They have a good forum at www.vtxoa.com

I found Honda Direct Line on that site.
Being familiar with that site you know how much I paid for this NIB 2003.
I won't gloat
I am smiling right now though.

I'm gonna leave it stock for now.
I'll get a sheild and seat when it cools down and drys up here.

Clearly the Ninja ZX-6R.

Can cut thru a corner hard enough to drag a knee, has a top speed almost to triple the speed limit, is comfortable enough for an all day ride, top class brakes, mean engine sounds, bulletproof, and low buck.

Just about everything a glock is.

The inline 4 cylinders from Suzuki in the late 70's/early 80's are more than likely the Glocks of motorcycledom. The only way to kill one is operator error, and they have their own "attraction" that only a GS series could have.

Just gas and go on my GS850L

Now Harleys are like 1911's (or my 1991A1), just not "money pits" as stated earlier. One just needs to add things to make them run or look the way you need or want them to. The amount of adding is up to the owner. I have owned 2 HD's. Maintenance is key with mine, as any shovelhead owner will tell you. I only sold my ironhead chooper to put a new furnace/AC in my house, I will miss that one..;1
