I've read a lot of his stuff. Fight Club was awesome but in his other stuff he just goes way too far into the weirdness. You have to be a bit out there to be interesting, but the problem is that people who go a bit out often can't tell when to stop. (As a matter of fact, Tyler Durden's character starts out that way: starts with fight club, then vandalism and mischief, and finally the master plan of project mayhem (not to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it or seen the movie). Pahlaniuk does the same thing as a writer.
