Go on a 600-1000 mile ride some day. You'll change your opinion.
Now, had you said "Gixxer 1K: The Baddest Sport Bike," I'd have to agree.

Nevermind, Eyespy, I saw your posting in another thread. Your '00 seems 100% dialed in. I do like R1s based on the handful of times I have rode them, but I guess I'm just a Suzuki guy.

Hey D25, my 00 is dinosaur technology compared to the lastest crop of sportbikes. I was infering that the ZX-10 and 04 R1 have surpassed the 00 G1K, which used to be King of the Hill when is displaced the 00R1 for that title. But there's a new King, for now....
My 00 is dialed in pretty good, though

I have a 2001 GXR1000. I have rode it on 600 miles days. It is a great bike. I have Heli bars and a stock seat and revalved/resprung forks.
Actually, I'm planning a Deal's Gap trip soon.
However, I'd still like to have a new R1! ;f

HP is great but big leans, big slides and big air is what makes the best bike

The best bike is the one you can afford that makes you happy to ride it.
With that being said, Harley FXD is the best bike for me for where and how I like to ride. I like the rubber mounted engine for the longer rides and it's light enough to get around town good. I have hardbags, windshield, sissybar with a T-Bag attatched, and highway pegs.
Keep the rubber side down and the metal side up.

Best bike for me is one that runs... In this case, a 1983 Honda VF1100C ( V65 Magna ) ...
And it runs REAL fast
