WinMX out of action??

Is this site still functioning? I log on, go to search, but get no responses...even from the most popular artists. Anyone else having this problem?

IIRC, with most opennap-type P2P clients, unless you have allotted an acceptable minimum upload bandwidth and have enough files in your shared folders, you are branded a LEECH. No one will allow you to DL from their machines if this appears to be the case.

It is also quite likely that your ISP is blocking the ports that the client uses to communicate.

The fix for that, Since You Are Not Illegally Swapping Copyrighted Material, is to set the connection as Secondary rather than Primary, and to tell it in Setup that TCP connections cannot be used on your network.

The problem can also be caused by stateful NAT filtering in a router's firewall, or more possibly by Black Ice or Zone Alarm software 'firewalls'.

Best regards,
