How much for a 2001 Honda XR650R?

I looked at one today. Very clean bike. Just the few usual scratches on the plastic you would expect on a dirt bike. Started right up and ran well. Trade in on Kelley Blue Book is $2,400 and retail is $3,500. Just looking for some more concrete numbers at this point. I'm willing to pay a little more for a bike I feel good about and this one "feels" right.

Those bikes are sweet. I was torn between the 650r or the wr450, ended up with the wr. I'll probably get the 650r as a 2nd bike before long. I would pay somewhere between trade in and retail, probably no more than $3200.

Have u ridden one before?

Just remember, the "retail" pricing in N.A.D.A. is representative of the price that dealer would charge you, not private party numbers. The retail pricing takes into acct. that the dealer may have had to service the bike and/or repair the bike before he could put it on the showroom floor, for sale. Buying from a private party should be less $$$ than retail price, unless he has extras, extended warranty, ect., ect.
If it ain't ain't Fun!

Well, I just arranged to pick it up for $2,800. Not bad IMHO.
