Just got back.
I am just numb over this.
He would write: Woof Woof!
And I would answer: Meow Meow.
Will never get to do that with him again.

Very few people will ever touch people around the world without ever meeting them.
Woof was one of those who did.
Sad news. Tears in my eyes for someone who lived life to the fullest, and made a difference.

RIP Woof.

I remember a few years back Woof posted this poem in a thread about mistreated animals. It affected me so much, I still have it saved on disk.

Abandoned

by R. Wayne Edwards

A dog sits waiting in the hot summer sun,
Too faithful to leave, too frightened to run.
He s been there for days, with nothing to do
But sit by the road, waiting for you.

He can't understand why you left him that day.
He thought you and he were stopping to play.
He's sure you'll come back and that's why he stays.
How long will he suffer, how many more days?

His legs have grown weak, his throat's parched and dry.
He's sick now from hunger and falls with a sigh.
He lays down his head and closes his eyes.
If you could just see how a waiting dog dies.

;w

Woof, I miss you.

;1 I seem to have sprung a leak as well! ;1

"I am resurrection and I am life, says the Lord;
he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live;
and everyone who has life, and has committed himself to me in faith,
shall not die forever.

As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives
and that at the last he will stand upon the earth;
After my awaking, he will raise me up,
and in my body yet shall I see God.
I myself shall see, and my eyes behold him
who is my friend and not a stranger.

For none of us has life in himself,
and none becomes his own master when he dies.
For if we have life, we are alive in the Lord.
and if we die, we die in the Lord.
So, then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's possession.

Happy from now on are the dead who die in the Lord!
So it is, says the Spirit, for they rest from their labors."

"Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your servant
Woof. Acknowledge him, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your
own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own
redeeming. Receive him into the arms of your mercy, into the
blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious
company of the saints in light."

"May he with his mercy shield him, and with words of love, draw near."

I bet he was kind of person that his dog thought he was.

From the prayer, " "Lord, please make me the kind of person my dog thinks I am."
I remember that like it was yesterday.

I just saw the new forum "in memory" of woof. I was stunned. I had dropped out of most of the forums to which woofy contributed but every once in a while I'd pop in for a looksee and there was always something by him that made me smile and wish I could always be so kind.
He will be missed.

God Bless. Mrs. 9mmMike and I will be praying for his family, especially hard during this Christmas season.

Mike

What sad news indeed!

I remember Woof's words of wit and wisdom very well, and he certainly was part of the local color here at GT.

I am very very saddened at this turn of events, and I wish nothing but good energy on his family that he left behind.

Rest in peace, Woof, rest in peace.
