I have a bunch of music CD's "backed up" to .ogg files. Mainly cause that's what my linux box makes when I type 'ripit' from the command line. There are several players for linux that will play them. I thought I had a player on my old windoze laptop that would play them as well. However, on my new laptop Media Player will not do it. Does anyone know of a windoze application that will play .ogg files?

Before you install Winamp, give Mediamonkey a try. It's a great music database that is much faster than Winamp Media Organizer (or whatever it's called) on large collections. It can handle all sorts of music files, including OGG and it can even support the older Winamp plugins, so I catalog my FLAC files as well. It also has some pretty powerful functions.

It's freeware for the basic version, ~$25 for the Gold version. You won't be disappointed with either.

Chevrofreak, what is that codec for. Is it to play ogg files in Media Player?

I think it allows them to be played with any media player.

Yup. I don't like WMP. I prefer winamp. But then again, I'm using version 2.93 or something like that. I'm not a big fan of the other releases.

Thanks everyone for all the replies. WinAmp works like a champ. Special thanks to Chevrofreak, that codec does allow ogg files to be played in WMP but it does not give you the all important graphics. ;f

I did not try media monkey although I am sure it works well.
