Bad news on the doorstep

On this date in 1959,a small plane left Fargo,N. Dakota in a blizzard, after the annual -Winter Dance Party. On board were Buddy Holly,Richie Valenzuela, and J.P. Richardson,"The Big Bopper".They only made it a few miles.
Left behind were Dion Demucci, lead singer of Dion and the Belmonts, and Waylon Jennings, back up guitarist for Buddy Holly and the Crickets. This is the 47th anniversary of "The day the music died." I was 13 years old,and remember well.
