Bike paint job

As some of your know I am bringing a theft recovery 95 GPZ 1100 back form the dead.
Having found all new used OEM plastic from various sources around the country I am now ready to have all the plastic painting to match.
My question is have any one of you ever had your plastics painted?
How much paint did it take? Did you take to an automotive shop of a shop that specializes in motorcycles?
I am planing on using a custom House of Kolor color changing paint that flips from a deep purple to a dark green depending on the light and angle the paint is viewed from.
Any and all experiences and or advice would be appreciated thank you.

Painting is a tricky job. If you don't know what you're doing and not prepping the surface right, that paint will chip in a heartbeat and your machine will look like crap real quick. Take it to a knowledgeble paint/body shop. Try out that joint Texas T recommends.
