Are you REPRESENTIN'?

Had to make the title sound stupid.

So, what martial art(s) do you study (formally), where and what belt/rank are you? I'll start.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu - Alliance Marietta (although I admittedly haven't been in quite a while) - White belt

Yoshinkan Aikido- Yondan

Muso Jikiden Eishen Ryu Iai- Menkyo Okuden

I have Yudansha rank in Karate and Judo as well, and a second-degree black belt in TKD (which was essentially 'bought' from a McDojo, when I was young and dumb and thought it would improve my resume).

I currently operate a small private dojo in Western New York.

9th Kyu in American Goju-ryu Karate. (I will be listening more than I talk). I'm in the middle of an 8-week road trip for work, and because I do that a couple of times a year, I'm advancing a little slower than the rest of my class, but nothing has motivated me to train like this has. There's noting like knowing my brother and sister karateka have to wait in pushup position until I finish my repetitions to motivate me.

Over the years I've studied a pretty wide variety of martial arts. TKD, Bujinkan-ninpo taijutsu, JKD concepts, Kali, MTK, Judo, Jujutsu, aikido, boxing, wrestling and a few different styles of karate. I have a few black belts and a few yellow belts and a lot of white belts. I've learned something useful from each style and some fluff from each. So I figure I've still got a lot of looking and studying left to do.
And I'm not getting any younger. ;f

Have studied Goju-Ryu, Kenpo, and BJJ.

I ended up leaving all the arts and just started training. Was involved in Muay Thai for a while and then started doing NHB. Great fun!

Now I just work out for the exercise and don't step into the ring anymore. It hurts too much!

ShoDan in Isshinryu

I am a Shodan in Isshinryu Karate. It is very interesting to see how other styles handle certain situations.

Glad to see a forum like this get started.

I have a blue belt from Tanaka's of fame in ****o-Ryu Karate (excellent instructor, not especially fired up about the style).

A yellow belt in Krav Maga through the Stvanger Hogskolen ISS sports club in Norway. Instructor was Wingate Institution certified. GOOD STUFF.

A green belt in Hapkido via the Martins at ABT. GOOD STUFF.

A few years, no belts, in Northern Shaolin (no offense but I view this largely as a waste of time for a self defense style).

A year, no rank earned, in Wing Tsun. GOOD STUFF.

My training has served me well and saved my life twice.

I would like to continue with Hapkido and/or Krav Maga
