ATV accident - into wire fence
April 1 1700 just finished dinner quickcall goes off Medical Aid
ATV accident, the victim has a laceration to the neck.
Arrived on scene at a house and found the young adult male with a neck injury. He had been frding a Yamaha Banshee, after dark, along a dirt road. The ATV struck a rock and veered through a barb wire fence. The victim was not wearing a helmet or protective riding gear.
He walked about 1/2 mile home and we were called after his father found him bleeding in the garage.
He had been cut across the neck by the barbed wire. The cut extended from ear to ear, down under the jaw. I could see his trachea.
The bleeding had stopped, he could talk, and had many other cuts and scratches. We landed the helicopter in the vacant lot and he was transported.
No helmet! ATV at night. I have not heard an updat on his condition yet.
