Good shooting Game for PS2?

Hi Gamesters,
I am looking for a good shooting game in PS2 format. I am addicted to Hitman 2: Silent Assassin and this new game(s) should be at least equal in terms of graphics quality and realism.

Please give me your suggestions. A game with some sort of story line is preferred.

Thanks

If you really want a good shooting game for a console, you need to get an X-Box.

Halo
Halo 2
Doom 3
Half-Life 2

Nuff said.

What about the new Medal of Honor coming out? That should be a good one.

Defense, have you played Halo1? I didn't know anything about it until a year after it came out. It is an awesome game. The multiplayer is a blast, but the single player is incredible. At least I think so.

I have not played Halo2.

(Right now I am hooked on Battlefield1942, Desert Combat Mod)

I'm a fan of TimeSplitters 2 on the PS2. Multiplayer is a blast.

Nice suggestions. All are on PS2, so disregard the X-BOX comment.

Here's one you can find on the cheap :
It's called "Freedom Fighters" and it's kinda like Red Dawn.

It's a few years old, but if you missed it when it first came out, bo pick it up, you'll enjoy it.

It's more of a 3rd person shooter than a 1st person, but it plays pretty well from what I remember.

Or you could always try GTA San Andreas .....

Freedom Fighters is pretty good, we have it for PC. As you progress in the game, you are able to command a progressively larger squad. Squad commands are remarkably intelligent and simple: "Attack that", "Defend this", and "Follow me" (the commands can be for all or one guy at a time). When you think about it, that is really all you need for squad control!

Also, the cut scenes with the Russian news broadcasts are pretty funny.

I'm playing max payne 2 right now and it's pretty damn realiztic with the shotting other then the duel weilding d. eagles and the realoading, but that's normal for games. THere's no one gun that will take a person out right away. The d. eagle isn't made out to be a super gun like most other games. Shotguns lose use when shooting farther. You can hear and see ejected cases laying around.
Only 10 bucks at best buy.

That's what I love about socom, it doesn't do most single player missions in the day time (if you didn't want your enemy to know you were comming why would you do it at any other time of day).

Online has almost all maps in the day time, with maybe one or two exceptions (however atleast one of the night maps is so bright from the sky it may aswell be daytime).

Online is great, but it's prone to cheaters and stuff. :(
