Airsoft pistols

Hi guys,

I just visited my friend who distributes airsoft products here in mindanao, lately, his airsoft pistols modeled after the glock and 1911 were seliing like hot cakes. It seems that a lot of shooters are into airsoft competing in ipsc style matches among fellow airsoft players.

I guess airsoft pistols could be a great training aid for ipsc or idpa matches... what do you guys think?

Yes, they may be good training tools, as long as you are aware of their limitations. For example, the trigger pull on an airsoft Glock is infinitely lighter than that on the real thing, and recoil on the former is almost non-existent, even on the gas blowback models. Nonetheless, it's fun to shoot airsoft pistols

Last year's (2004) winner of the US Steel Championship was a Japanese National.

Firearms are forbidden in Japan.

He won by practising on Airsoft pistols.

BTW, I have a H&K USP Compact Airsoft pistol.

So..what are you waiting for ?

I think I'll get me one, too, for training.

Proponents of airsoft (and even .22 cal) pistols for training say that the lack of recoil helps the shooter concentrate on other fundamentals such as breathing, sight picture, etc.

Hopefully, it will cure my tendency to flinch. It it won't, I bet it would be fun anyway ;e.

Hello,
If that is the game in Timezone Greenhills Promenade then yes, I play that game too. Pretty cool game. In fact, that is the only game I play when I'm in Greenhills.

Hello,
Promenade is the new building which houses the new cinemas 3,4 and 5. It is also where Coffee Bean, Figaro, Crepes de France, etc. are located.
If you are standing is StarBucks and look across the parking lot, that is the Promenade building. Timezone is at the ground floor.

For gas blowback, Western Arms and KSC are brands that I've had good experiences with.

Another question: does anyone know if the HFC134 gas canisters can be refilled? The gas can be quite expensive if you shoot often. Also, is this HFC134 the same gas that is used in car airconditioners?

This (propane adaptor) could be an option, if it's available in the PH. Has anyone seen/heard of it?

More info.

Other forum users on this site (glocktalk, Training forum) seem to recommend KSC. I'm looking at getting the KSC Glock 18C blowback.

Another good brand (from Internet research) is Tokyo Marui.
