Great Guitarists

Who do you consider greatness when it comes to guitar?

I'll offer a few: Dimebag(not with us), Tom Morello(Rage) are just a couple that come to mind.

Ditto Mark Knopfler, also Lindsey Buckingham, Steve Howe, Robert Fripp, Eric Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Nuno Bettencourt, Eddie Van Halen, as these names stream out it occurs to me that there are just too many to name. There have been great guitar innovators who were rapidly copied, (Jimi Hendrix comes to mind) there are great guitar players/musicians, great guitarist/songwriters, music is a rainbow, the best you can hope for is a color.;Y

How about Zakk Wylde. Pretty much all of Ozzy's guitarists were "great", Rhandy Rhoads was awesome, even Jake E. Lee was great (its funny that not many people know about him). Dimebag was great, no matter if u liked the whole band or not. And well Jimi Hendrix and SRV will always be the greatest IMO.

Here is one of my newer favorite players. Great tone for a young guy. Check him out. His name is Josh Smith.

Joe Satriani
Steve Vai
Yngwie Malmsteen
John Petrucci

Anyone into guitar music should pick up some of the G3 DVDs....WOW.;P

I enjoy Zakk Wylde and Jerry Cantrell. There are numerous others, but it's late and I'm tired.
