That's exactly what I'm saying. Unfortunately it's up to good ole Martha Coakley. She has the final say as to what is or is not MA compliant. (I believe this has something to do with a loaded chamber indicator among other things)

Also I never said that I would be asking an LEO to do this, I only mentioned that the only way to take advantage would be to have LE purchase and resell, and I don't feel like having an LEO lose his job over a $500 pistol that Coakley doesn't like.

Seems I will either have to do some good research and find a G27 gen 4 and pay out the ass for it, find a gen 3 model for more then I could buy a new one for, or buy something Coakley finds ok to sell in MA without any problems.

Also, moving out of state would in all actuality cost more then buying almost any firearm in general. I'd have a license I wouldn't be able to use, the cost of moving all my stuff would add up, etc etc. It's a lose-lose situation for anyone in MA.

Oh did I mention we can't have anything over a 10 rounds mag unless its on/before 9/13/94? Yeah, so getting a new gun would result in my having to send the mags back and wait for the 10 rounders to show up.

The best price i found was directly from Glock, $399 for a Gen4 G19 but it was a 12 week wait.....$490 from my local FFL.....paid $550 without the discount because I didn't have patience and just needed one on my permit.

Thought I'd pass on my experience in finding/purchasing a Glock 19 Glock DHS discount program.
My first stop was at the relatively new GT Distributors on Perimeter Dr. in Dallas, Tx. Showed my Texas non-commissioned (Unarmed) security ID card and was told that qualified me but they had no Glock 19's in stock. They took my info. and said they would call me when the shipment came in.
Next stop was the Cheaper Than Dirt in Fort Worth, Tx. The counter guy told me I had to have a Commissioned security (Armed) license to qualify. I told them that Glocks own policy listed state certified security officers, period.
I also informed him of having been okayed over at GT Distr.
He agreed to go forward with the sale.
If you know you're right, make your case in a professional manner and see what it gets you.
P.S. I went for the Gen. 4. Felt better in my medium-sized mitt than the Gen. 3.

I just called Glock last week and asked about a discount for armored truck guards and they said no. I think I will try again.

Check out the link in post #532 of this thread. Make a copy and take it to your local Glock LEO/Mil. dealer.

I just talked to my local gun shop and they have a Glock 23 that is specifically for the LE/Mil discount, but they said retired military don't get the discount?

But, on this is in the third line at the top of the form "- all branche, Legitimately retired military veterans with "retired" military I.D."

I have a retired ID, so shouldn't I qualifY?

sounds like each dealer is making their own rules. My dealer tells me "the guns are the same but i offer the discount for every Glock" (but i thought there was the "blue box")

Went to the shop about an hour ago and ask if retirees qualified.

They got the flyer out and it did not show retirees, but then the sales person said let me chekc something else--and she came back with another flyer that did show show retirees, but it was from a different distributor I think.

Anyway, she asked if I wanted to buy, I said yes, and I'm new owner of G23 Gen 4 and very happy camper...

Will do business there again...

Will post to other thread also...

see sideseal's post with more recent flyer -- http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1341703
