Bought my first Honda!

All I can say is WOW!! I bought an 05 Accord EX coupe with the v6 engine... I LOVE this car!! Black with black leather interior, 6 speed transmission, power everything... This thing will be a joy to drive 40 miles to work, and at about 30 mpg, won't suck my pocketbook dry like the lifted Chevy silverado I was driving...

excellent choice, the honda V6 is a great motor when not hampered by a slushbox

It won't be your last. They may be pricey initially, but if you keep them long enough they are actually the best value out there.

I know it's a great car but I am not a fan of the new accord styling, I thought the last style looked better.

I would want the same thing, but a Camry ;f.

Sorry, I'm a Toyota fan. Honda v. Toyota is sort of like the Japanese Chevy/Ford debate.

I would be a much bigger fan of Hondas if they were RWD. I'll never own a FWD car except as a beater, so I'll probably never own a Honda except as a beater.

Glad you're happy, though.

as commuter cars, daily drivers, beaters, whatever, Honda/Toyota reliability is unbeatable. IMHO, FWD fits perfectly into that roll, so it works out well.

Well, I am in the process of selling my Honda Civic, and I just bought a couple Toyota's. I like Toyota's, but I will buy Honda's again.

Honda and Toyota, I probably won't ever buy anything else besides what these two companies make.

I bought a new Honda Accord EX in the early 90's. Loved the car. Best car on the road for the money, hands down. Sold it for gas hog, had to tow a trailer so.........

But I can't say enough good things about Hondas. Does anyone know when the US car companies are going to get a clue??????

What has it been now, about 25 years since they got lost in the woods?

Last time I checked they are having to almost give thier cars away (employee discount, all 3 are doing it now). Gee I wonder why the japanese manufacturers aren't doing it? Oh yeah, beacuse they don't have to. They sell just fine as they are.

My next car most definately will be a Toyota of some sort. I just can't decide if I want a truck (those new tacomas are nice) or car.

My daughter has approximately 215,000 miles on her 1998 CRV and the engine still runs great.

I have a '98 Prelude and i LOVE it. Honda makes one of the worlds best gear boxes. The car (with propper rubber) handles better than it is fast, but that is how it should be. The suspension should always be fast than the engine(unless it is a drag car). Oh how I would love it if it were rwd.
126k miles and she has only had an O2 sensor. I give her Amsoil and drive the ***** out of her.
It will be hard to replace it, since the lude is no longer made.

Oh man, dont get me started. That is easily my favorite thing about hondas, especially modern hondas. No other company, and I mean that, makes cars that shift as well manually as sporting hondas. The S2000 and RSX are to die for shift wise. And its such a perfect match for motors than need to be rev'd.

Yeah, I'm totally talking myself into another honda;g

I sold BMWs for a while, and LOVE the M3. However, I wish Honda had done the gear box in it. And as far as the nav, BMWs suck, and Hondas is awesome. BMWs do handle much better than just about anything out there. I guess the perfect car would have to be a mutt.
suspesion= BMW
engine= Honda/BMW
electronics= Honda
gearbox= Honda
Body= Porshe?

The ultimate irony is that the employee discount also caused a rise in sales of Japanese cars. Folks did buy cars, but they often chose a Japanese one, despite the lack of a discount.

i have the 03 v6 ex.....its a great car....
just think 0-60 in 7 sec from a honda,
it can fit 4 adults comfortably.
push down the rear seats, i can fit my mountain bike and gear.
you could buy a faster car,more expensive car,more luxurious car,
but dollar for dollar honda's are hard to beat.
honda accords have been in motortrend and car and drivers top 10, 25 of the last 30 yrs.

honda are very reliable and have a tremendous resale value
here is a list of the honda products i or my family has owned

86 accord lx-sold in 96(141,000 miles)
90 accord lx-still run ning(127,000 miles)
92 accord lx-still running,sold to a relative in 04(105,000 miles)
96 intera stolen (126,000 miles)
03 accord v6 coupe......

now if they would only come out w/ awd accord.

Just wish they'd start importing the diesel Accord.

;z

Maybe after test driving both they realized that the current offerings from American car companies pretty much suck (with only a couple exceptions, but usually those are the one's NOT eligible for the discount, like the mustang, Vette, Viper, F-150,etc.)

I hate Hondas. But congrats on the new car. Only Chevys, Fords, and 1 Ponti for me. I currently own a Brand New 2005 Ford mustang GT 5 speed stick. Slushies suck!

I had a Toyota Rav4. It was incredibly reliable but I loathed the design. The alarm was a horror of complexity and the turn stalk was like trying to figure out an F4 fighter jet. Bleah. But I'll give Toyota credit, they build them to last forever!

I just bought a used 2001 Civic EX coupe with a 5 sp. trans. I LOVE THIS LITTLE CAR. Sold a Lincoln Town Car in order to buy the Honda. I've owned Japenese cars in the past and have had outstanding luck with them. Will never buy American again. Look under the hood of a Japanese car and you'll see the hoses, wiring, and brake lines running uniformly against the firewall. An American car will have a birds nest of hoses and wires that that appear to have been installed by drunk monkeys. The worst thing on my little Civic are the American made Firestones that came as original equipment. If I could change anything, it would be to have all Japanese parts and have it assembled it Japan. I'd like to buy American but until they "really" improve design and quality my hard earned dollars are going to Honda.

I had a '96 Prelude Si as well. It was a fun car not to mention built like a rock. And yes, the stick shift was awesome. Porsche, Ferrari, BMW can line up and take lessons from Honda.

I do speak Japanese: Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki.
