Ignition's Hi-point 995 carbine Stock modifications (beware 56k)

Well first to start off. Im not a gunsmith, but im also one to not be happy with a "stock"(excluding my glocks) style firearm.

I love tinkering and playing around.

I decided... hey why not work on my lil plinker hipoint carbine... i mean heck i could do really whatever i want, and if i screwup there is a lifetime, no questions asked warranty.

Now i know in the end i could spend more than this gun is worth... ya ya ya ya blah blah blah blah... who cares... im just here to tinker and play and have something that you dont

Now i have already done part of my modifications and cant take you step through step with pictures, but i can show you where im at now and then we can see from there.

explanation of what has been done so far:

I have removed about 4 1/2 inchs from the end of the handgaurd from the 995 carbine, as well i discarded the top heat shield as it doesnt really serve any purpose since the handguard doesnt cover all of the gun and thus, makes it look even worse than it did.

After removing the 4.5 inches i cut a rectangle out of the cut pieces to sit on the end of the new stock. i then taped the ends in place securely to ensure the end of the stock is completely closed and protection from damage(not that it really matters)

With removing one of these pieces i lost the end bolt of the stock, which is where the barrel clamp for the stock attached. So i moved the barrel clamp back to the middle bolt, but there isnt a slot in the stock for that piece to snugly fit. so i took 1cm deep off on each inside of the stock where the barrel clamp would be positioned

After that came reassembly, adding the light and barrel clamp to hold the light, and then more fun at the range.

Now Im looking into working on figuring out a way to attach a folding stock to the end... i would like to build or fit an adaptor to fit the stock then i could easily add folding stock's depending on which one i like instead of picking one and modifying it, ill modify the adaptor and stock. this way i could attach generic AK or CAR folders or collapsable stocks

this is an inside view of one of the sides of the carbine stock, just incase someone else was having the same ideas or just wanted to look.

Just figured i would put this up here... incase someone felt bold and daring(or realized the great benefits of the highpoint warranty, and felt like tinkering around)

Yes im crazy.... if you got questions i wont be able to answer them for awhile because im going to be gone for 3 months to bootcamp. so i wont have the ability to get online for awhile... but PM me or email me at IgnitionSAU@hotmail.com and ill get back to you if you're thinking about this or have some questions.

SNS???

things must be bad in Indiana that you need a HP Carbine for your "SaturdayNightSpecial".

me thinks you have posted in the wrong forum and need to move this to gunsmithing or someplace about rifles.

Whatever!

You really need to get a real camera so we can actually see what you did. Those pics are terrible to say the least.

Are you saying your AR15 won't shoot that accurate? If not I would wonder if you have a bad barrel. A decent AR should be capable of doing 6 bullets in 1 hole with iron sights at 25 yards.

Your gunsmithing genius is matched only by your photography skills.

High Point carbines are butt ugly guns to start with.
When I read "stock modifications" in the title, I thought you had worked on the shoulder stock, which seriously needs to be overhauled.

In my opinion, the front end didn't need any work compared to the ugly, humpy, back-end, but hey, it's your gun.

But....

Duct Tape! ;g ;P

Dude!;e
