If you don't have Microsoft Office you can get Open Office for free and watch Power Point presentations.

Doesn't the new version of OpenOffice (2.0) allow you to save presentations as powerpoint files (.ppt)?

Tell your teacher that he/she is an idoit. Powerpoint does not come with every computer, and I don't think there is a download for it.

+1

Its part of microsoft office. Some computers come with it, some come with a stupid 30 day trial and some just flat out don't.

If you don't have microsoft office, it may be beneficial for you to get it, especially if you are in a class teaching how to use it. Also check if your bookstore has a discounted version for students. I know my community college has the full Office for 80 bucks (usually it's like 300 dollars), just for students.

BTW if you do get it, don't get the biggest version, chances are you won't need it. Just make sure it has Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. That's really all you need.

Check with your school. Often they will have an academic alliance with Microsoft and it wont cost you a dime.
