The ignition disable is passive.
It's more of a anti-bikejacking type feature.
A key is easier to lose than the remote, and without a key you are SOL as well.
I am really most interested in the perimeter sensor, helps to keep the morons from climbing all over your bike while you are out of sight.
A friend of mine walked out of a store just in time to see a kid climb onto and knock over his new bike, while the parents stood by and watched. They probably werent too happy when their insurance coughed up $7000 for repairs.
