My wife vetoed my spending $18,798 (MSRP $22,799) for a red 2006 ABS Gold Wing but she liked the price of a Kawasaki Nomad 1500 V-twin in the dealer showroom.

The local dealer marked the Kawasaki down for a "midnight madness sale" from $14,500 to $13,300 so my wife thought it would be better than the ABS Wing. I backed off because I know nothing about the Nomad plus it's not a Gold Wing. I found the same Kawasaki for $11,029 from an out-of-state dealer on cycletrader.com. It pays to check things out.

The local dealer wants $21,499 (MSRP) for a black 2006 GPS Gold Wing plus he adds $625 extra fees besides the expected tax, title and registration. I found the same black 2006 GPS Gold Wing out-of-state for $17,698. Still, the wife won't agree to buy it.

Does anyone know the pros and cons of the Nomad? I may go with that rather than not having a ride at all.

I have the 1600 Classic. Pretty much the same bike minus the hardbags. I have Roadhouse Dooley exhaust on mine so it has a similar exhaust system now. Love this bike. Torque like you wouldn't believe. With 2 up, it'll cruise in comfort all day at 80mph and it's solid as a rock when you encouter a semi.
