Slow after surfin' . . . .

Hello one and all,

My e-Machine is now about 2 1/2 years old. Always served me very well until about 6-8 weeks ago.

Here's the problem: I'll "surf the net" (dial-up service) for an hour or two and then "disconnect" from the service when finished. I'll delete "cookies" and "history" too.

Then when I try to to again "dial up" the computer will run verrrry slow, and at times will not responed at all. If I re-boot the computer will run fine.

This making any sense ?!?!?

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated ! !

Possibly SpyWare or AdWare. You can get a free program called 'AdAware' that will clean all of the stuff that shouldn't be on your computer.......worth a shot at least.

Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) is a security technology that helps protect Windows users from spyware and other potentially unwanted software. Known spyware on your PC can be detected and removed. This helps reduce negative effects caused by spyware including slow PC performance, annoying pop-up ads, unwanted changes to Internet settings, and unauthorized use of your private information. Continuous protection improves Internet browsing safety by guarding over fifty (50) ways spyware can enter your PC.

This WORKS... most anti-virus programs are not that concerned with spyware or adware...

This product works GREAT!!!
