My yahoo free email account will no longer give me a compose screen or let me reply to incomming email. When I try to make a new email I get a strange screen that won't work,all else works fine and no problem logging in and out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What browser are you using? I've noticed that I can no longer use the 'Mark' button to label mail in Opera 8.5. I can only suggest you try a different browser and see if it works with that.

Did you have a system hang or crash while using your internet browser? If so the program has crashed, damaged part of it's code. Reloading your old browser may be the easiest path.

Another thing you can try is to download and install SUN's java upgrade.

Next try down loading and installing Netscape 7 or 8, but 8 needs way too much memory and a Pent 4 CPU.

Firefox and others based on Netscape/Mozilla usually work too, Opera gave me the most issues.

SBC Yahoo DSL IE has the best compatibility, but the stand alone version of IE now has the greatest vulnerability to Trojan horses and other security weaknesses!

Thank you for you thoughtson this problem. To give an update on this , I contacted yahoo help folks and they told me that my email account was working and perhaps it would be good to change to mozilla or firefox and gave me a list of things to check.
Well this problem shows when using IE that came with AOL, so , while online and still having the peoblem of not being able to get a compose screen I opened IE on my desktop and it worked on my yahoo mail program. Some time has gone by and for no reason that I can think of the yahoo email program is now working with AOL version of IE.
