Wireless Internet

I got a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop for X mas and no NOTHING about hooking it up on a wireless network. I currently have DSL running to my desktop and plugged my wires into my laptop so I could play around a bit.

I know absolutely nothing about wireless routers etc and need to know what to get to hook everything up. I know I can access some unsecured wireless networks in my area from a friend showing me but its EXTREMELY SLOW!!! Please help!!!

Thank in advance

Mike

Purchase something like THIS

You plug your current DSL line into the router. There is some software that you will need to set up that comes with the router. You can then plug your current desktop into the router and it will also broadcast wireless signal for you to access the laptop. Make sure to use encryption on the router if you dont want your internet signal stolen, like you are doing to the neighbors down the street. ;a Good Luck.
