I'd be willing to give it a try...My antenna is a bit "loby" on 20M, but should do OK. The band should be open in our direction at that time (East-West). depending on who shows up maybe 40M would work too.

I'll listen for you...

That is the maritime mobile net freq. http://www.mmsn.org/schedule.html

You might see if you can find someplace else to hold the net.

Will this be a regular net? I can't make this one, got a funeral to go to, but I'd like to try in the future. Indy might be in my skip zone for 20 (Detroit) but it's worth a try!

Don't know. Depends on how many are interested and how much time I or someone else has that can act as NCS (hint, hint).

I will be monitoring the SPARC repeater (Rapho Twp, Lanc Co) 145.23- 118.8PL. I think we're close enough that we won't hear each other on 20...

We may be able to link up simplex from there...

It is 17:20Z, have been unable to make any contact on 14.306
Band conditions are not the best in my neck of the woods.

Well, EUPHER49 and I hooked up on 2M, and I heard something once on 14.306, but then nothing. I tried calling on 14.306, but no reply. Is anybody out there and we here in PA just can't hear you???

N3HCP and I had a mini net, and were hearing the same things on 20.

Heard lots of stations from the West and far South, but nothing from the Midwest...

I gave a couple of squawks on .306 but no replies. I should have heard salvo, but didn't...

Maybe we should try a different band next week. Perhaps even sometime in the evening during the week. I haven't been on HF much lately so maybe someone more familiar with current band conditions could make a suggestion.

I think this is a great idea! We just need to find the right place and time.

Martho

If you would like to try that next week that would be fine. I am on call next week (24/7) so I don't know if I will be home or not. Would you be willing to take "NCS"? I can do 40M without any problem.

On 20m, you just cant work everyone. There are always going to be skip zones and other issues.

40m makes is hard for the west coast guys to hear Indy during the day. 2200z or so would be a decent time to try 40m. I was playing in the NAQP CW contest last night at that time and I was hearing most of the US at that time on 40.

I cannot run the net next weekend.

However, we should set a sked with some people a few nights this week and see what times work best.

I really believe 2200 - 2300z is about the best time for 40m. If our target audience is only PA, IN, IL, and Salvo (dont know his QTH) then 40m would work during the day, too.

Hi martho, I'm in Las Vegas.
Went outside yesterday after the sched and looked up, my windom is set up as a flat top at about 35-40' the offset center section/balum is lifted with a rope and pully. The rope had worn and broke lowering the center section of the windom on my roof. No wonder conditions were so poor in my neck of the woods;g
Thats the great thing about net's, even if you dont make contact, it makes sure you equipment is up to snuf.
Hay I'm game for what ever freq. you guys want to try.
