sps magazine
are the sps 140mm and 170mm ipsc legal?, i read somewhere that they where too long when they arrived in the US.was it corrected when it arrived here? I suppose the 140mm won't have problems in the open div, only in the standard and and modified. are their 170mm within ipsc regulations?

IPSC Standard and Modified Division requires an unloaded gun with mag to fit on the "IPSC" box. 140mm would not fit. It's usually the 126mm with additional Tony Pascual +1 basepad that fits with the gun into the box. Although the Standard Div rules has been relaxed since 2004 edition rulebook, it still requires it to fit on the box. 170mm is allowed in the IPSC Open as long as there is no more base pad.
USPSA Limited Division has different equipment guidelines against that of the IPSC Standard Div. I believe it just limits the mag length at 140mm.

yeah ,I understand that they allow 170mm but I read in a thread that sps's 170mm is a bit longer than 170mm, so i'm wondering if what we have here are the same as the ones they have in the us or are they improved versions

I measured the SPS 170mm i got from PB and it is 170mm.
Regarding your question in BE, the 140mm is legal in open since it is still less than the 170mm limit.

Yes, i've used 140 and 170 without problems from ROs if that's what you mean.
The 170mm has a flat basepad and the 140 has a +4 basepad.

I bought the arredondo pads from jethro (the store not the shooter) last 1997.
Ok na yung mags out of the plastic bag. ;f No adjustments necessary.

i still don't have a 170mm tube. i'm waiting for a good bargain to come along.
i have 4 140mm's. i can load 22 rds of .38 super in my 140mm svi and sti tubes.
so far i have not made a standing reload because i ran out of ammo in my 140's. i've used 3 mags in a 32 rd cof before. but that is rare!
how much are you selling your sti for para mags? maybe mcoliver is interested! batangueno and i might be interested also!

Short and medium course, 1 mag lang. Long course, 2 mags.
Hindi ko sinasagad mags ko, yung 170mm 25 rounds and the 140mm mags 23 rounds.

doc,
actually i'm looking to trade my "sti for para" 170mm mag for a sti 170mm mag kasi nga stop production na yung sti nito. or since the magcatch notch of the "sti for para" mags is smaller pwede rin palakihan para umubra sa sps kaya lang sayang trade nalang para kung sino naka para or armscor or peterstahl or bul or (later this year) norinco na nakaopen makinabang.
by the way I also have 3 "sti for para" 140mm mags if any one wants to trade 140mm sti mags.
