Well I'll post this one as it's kind of done, less some duracoat. This is an entry level rifle for my 19yr daughter and she wants the XTM panels black, white and pink, along with the stock pink.

This was a build on the cheap with a lot of "take off's" from other guns and the like. Started out with an old Olympic stop sign lower I've been using for a dozen years or so, RRA parts kit, Spike's stock/buffer assy and a very affordable PSA mid length complete upper ($429 I think). Troy drop in rail, AFG donated from her boyfriends gun, borrowed Aimpoint and mount from my (now) backup rifle. Runs like a clock and more than accurate enough from what we can tell. Only shoot out to a hundred yards and maybe 150rnds total thru it, but so far flawless.

If I would have know that PSA was coming out with the patrol carbine including the Aimpoint Pro I would have just bought that! But I'm happy with this one too.

I just did my first AR. I didn't really know what i was doing so i started with a complete stag-15 model 2. and added the parts and optic i wanted. I'll post pictures tomorrow when my omega rail gets here and it's 99.5% done. It'll jsut be pending the arrival of my magpul extended trigger guard. I've only put 120 through it so far to zero the irns and make sure it didn't explode. I'll have it out next week for a 500 round session. So far, accurate and no hiccups wiht federal XM 193. I'll try a few boxes of wolf or bear in it next week in addition to the federal. But i'm pleased with the stag quality considering the price of the complete rifle new was 752 dolars before tax.

And now i have a little bit of know how for the next build i do. I'll probably get a BCM upper for that one. And whatever decent lower i can get at a good rate...

Finally finished my first AR build minus an optic and maybe a new handguard. CMMG 14.5 middy upper and Doublestar lower.

How do you like that Rainier mini comp? I was looking at getting one to put on my plinking rifle because it is so small but the points were a turn off so I got a Miculek instead.

Just got it installed, like it for the small size, especially since I put it on a .625" diameter barrel. Everything else looks HUGE on it............you could always grind the point off

That's a good point, I hadn't even noticed the barrel had a thinner profile. The predatAR I'm getting at Range Day might have to wear one.

just installed a YHM free float rifle length tube on my standard Stag carbine. shaved the fsb down with a dremel and painted to match the rest of the rifle. im really not liking the grip pod and it has since come off. need to figure something else out. also need to touch up the paint on the scope because i had to move it a bit. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic.

Stag model 2 carbine
Magpul CTR and Miad
YHM customizable free float tube, rifle length
Millett DMS and Burris PEPR mount.

I got the upper from Strawsers in Grantville. It was a good price, not as good as aim but better than any other i found online. It also only took 2 days to get it.

Stawsers just got his class 3.

Quick Blackberry picture of my DoubleStar (Bud's deal few months ago). Quad rails, Magpul foregrip, single point sling, Primary Arms optic, MBUS flip up rear. Way under $1000. Flawless through 400 rounds. What says you?

Colt 6721.

With Magpul AFG (waiting for L5), MOE guard, MORE grip, MOE stock.

On the way:

MOE FDE trigger guard, more FDE mags, XTM panels for the upper when I fit an optic, and a TLR-1 MOE mount (illumination kit.)

do some of you realize the magpul afg is meant to be used out on the end of a longer rail? on a carbine you'd be better served with a straight up magwell grip.

To some, whatever the position they put the grip is where they're most comfortable with. One size does not fit all.
