Depot?

Hello,

I'm interested in possibly trying for the USCG Reserve. Particularly for this position.

http://www.gocoastguard.com/find-you...vestigator-(iv)

I understand I would have to be accepted into the DEPOT program. I also understand it is competitive.

I have sixty college credits and 8.5 years of full time civilian police officer experience. I live in Colorado.

Is this possible to do and remain in Colorado? Is this a typically deployed position? Would I drill in Colorado Springs?

I've always wanted to serve in the military and this seems like a good fit.

Thanks all!

That really all depends on what is available in your area. The best place to start is with your local recruiter. They will have an updated RPAL (reserve position allowance list if I remember right) for your area. IV positions are pretty hard to get and normally dont come up very often. Most people are worried about calling recruiters because they think they will get calls non stop. CG recruiters do not operate this way so your best bet for up to date info is through them. Good luck
