This whole thread is getting me all hot and bothered. The appeal of the AK is something relatively new to me. I'm sure the novelty will wear off eventually...right?

Damn you. I have been pondering getting the 106U (though I want the side rail) to go with my 106FR and doing exactly what you did (triangle folder which I already have, wood handguards, SBR). This only serves to remind me how friggin cool the gun is. I will probably end up doing it. My Arsenal needs a companion.

Original Bulgarian waffle mags. k-var has the clear ones on sale for $22.99 a piece now. They were 30 bucks before.

Yea, it's nice, and a good shooter. I'm getting a rail installed on it soon, and then putting a gen II or III Kobra, or a Bushnells on it. I ran it at a carbine match, didn't do too bad, but it's be a lot faster with an optic.

Hey,

A few months ago I was debating whether or not to get an AR or an AK, well as many on the board recommended, they said both. At first I was like no way, but after thinking about it and researching it, the two rifles are one of a kind and I had no choice but to go both.

So here is my Polish Underfolder. I fell in love with it at first sight thanks to the chicks above carrying them.

I wrapped some 550 cord around the arm b/c I wasn't sure how comfortable it would be on the cheek. We shall see, shes going shooting in a couple weeks!

Very nice AKs guys...Wow. I don't own one yet. I would not even know what kind I wanted. In my area, the cheaper AKs are about $350.

Perhaps the "rarest" pre-ban variant to come out of Polytech. This one came from the factory with a Polytech AK-74 style muzzle break, as well as a Polytech fiberglass vertical foregrip. The B-square mount and scope were installed by me a while later (using existing pins / not drilled). To my understanding, less than 100 of these muzzle break / vertical foregrip equipped Polytech AK variants made it into the US before the '89 Import Ban.

In all the years that I've owned her, I've only seen one other identical model which was up for sale on gunbroker a few years ago. Haven't seen any more of these anywhere since. I'm putting her up for sale soon since all she does is sit in my gun safe for the last 10 or so years (or, looking to trade for a Bushmaster or DPMS M4-A3 flat top carbine... new or used, doesn't matter to me as long as it hasn't been abused).
I'll probably list it locally first here in Oregon / Washington, but if I have no buyers / traders, I'll list it for any fellow forum members that may be interested here at Glocktalk.

I was going to say this is my latest incarnation of my Saiga, but since I took this picture, I've installed the SAW grip, which I really like.
