Anybody else get screwed on the Remington shotgun shell rebate?

My rebate got denied because of unqualifying upc codes on a 15 round value pack of Remington Slugger shotgun slugs. Called them twice to argue with them and what they finally settled on as a reason for the denial was that the UPC code on the product I mailed them was for a 2012 promotion. I told him that I bought it from Walmart several months ago. The CS (customer service) guy said that it must be old stock or something. To me that is a pretty slippery thing to do, and I told the CS guy as much. I was wondering if anyone else got taken on this rebate deal.

Lots of views, but no replies so I guess I'm an isolated incident. All I'd suggest is take a list of the rebate qualifying upc codes with you when you go to buy your ammo so you don't end up with a denial letter.

That's par for most rebates, in my experience. They often find a way to worm out of the deal.

Would it be worth it to contact your state's AG office? File a false advertising complaint?

Worth a shot, if it's not in the fine print.

Just another example of Freedom Group screwing up what was formally a good company.

I won't spend any money on any new product from a company owned by Freedom Group.

Are you saying you purchased the product prior to the rebate program starting date?

You purchased ammo that was produced outside of the accepted production date range for the rebate, and you're complaining why exactly?

If your ammo doesn't follow the rules of the rebate, then they don't have any reason to give you the rebate.

What does the fine print for the rebate say?

Well I've got four examples of Freedom Group not being the devil everyone says they are...

I've used three Remington rebates and one Marlin rebate with no issues.
