chrome repair question

I haven't visited this forum much so I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question or not but it's the best guess I had for who could answer my question.

I just bought a used pick-up ('02 Dodge 4X4) with a heavy duty brush guard on the front. The guard is chrome and is in very good shape except for one small spot where a horizontal bar meets a vertical support. At that point the chrome plating is chipping away from the metal. It is not a large spot, probably about the size of a dime, but the chrome is loose and if I were to pull on it I would be able to peel some of it off.

My question is how to fix this? I don't necessarily care if it is perfect I just want to make sure that it doesn't get any worse. Is it possible to epoxy it down or somehow seal it so that it won't get worse??

Thanks in advance for any advice.

To have it rechromed would cost as much as a new guard. I think I would try your idea of a good metal epoxy, clear if you can find it and cover the spot with it using a plastic body puddy applicator, so it leaves a slightly thick even coat over the spot. I think that would hold it.

Thanks. I just didn't want to do anything to screw it up worse.
