Well I just got back from the range and I am thrilled! I shot 100 CCI Blazer Brass and not one FTF or FTE. Perfect action every time. I still don't shoot any better but it hit everywhere I aimed. I did manage to put 5 shots in a 3" circle at 25 yards. Not bad for a SNS. I am not a very good shot anyway so that is fantastic.
great range report, which proves that many so-called SNS pistols are just as reliable for self defense as the "custom" $1000 models. Sure, they're not meant for match target shooting, but just because they're made of lower grade alloys doesn't mean they're no good. Hi-Points, and some others use hi strength zinc die castings for frames and slides, which are plenty good for an inexpensive defensive firearm. And when the pistol is well made, they function fine.
SNS got a bad name long ago from some poorly made firearms. But Hi-Point seems to have it's act together.
Congrats on getting a good one. And, BTW, you are a true marksman with that good a pattern at 25yds. At self defense distance, around 7 yds, you will be pleased with the accuracy.

It is a great pistol especially for the money! I had a Glock 21(45acp) and it was a great pistol too but I honestly don't see a difference in functionality. Yes the Glock had a better finish but like alot of people point out. The BG doesn't care how good your gun looks when he's breaking into your house.
I intend on using this as my CCW after I shoot it more and trust it more. But I see no reason why it wouldn't function just as good.
I will still be buying some of the more expensive guns but this Hi-point will hold it's place too.
One nice part about Hii Point is the customer service is excellent. I was having light strike problems with my C-9, I called CS and they sent me a new firing pin, spring, and bushings right away.
Hopefully the new spring will solve the problem, it was a little longer and beefier than the old one. I haven't had the time to go to the range since I replaced the parts.

i am sick of people knocking hi point and keltec, etc... these guns arent glocks, but the truth is, they are quality guns for the price... they are cheap and usually go bang as often as other nicer guns.. i have a hi point 995 carbine and the thing eats anything. has over 30,000 rounds through it, never had it apart to clean it, nothing. i have cleaned it the best i can but i havent had it apart and i have YET TO HAVE ONE FTF OR FTE!!! in 30k rounds!!! i called hi point and told them and they were very humble. bottom line, these guns are good for the money... i enjoy my hipoint carbine more than any other gun other than the AK47 and its far cheaper to shoot... people dont understand the lethality of the 9mm round out of a carbine or semi auto rifle... it can be nasty.. and man is it fun to shoot!
not to mention, hi point has the best CS of ANY gun comapny in the world! and yes i said ANY!

Well went to the range again the other day and shot 100 WWB and 150 CCI Blazers. The Blazers did great, The WWB did ok but I could tell they weren't feeding as well as the CCI. Never the less I had zero FTF or FTE. I have learned some guns like different ammo whether it is $50 or $500.The wife and I are going to the range again tomorrow night and we'll see how she likes the 9mm. She has only shot my .22's.

My C-9 chokes on WWB as well, FTF problems mostly. CCI or Remington feeds just fine.
