An experiment

I spotted an FD 28mm 2.8 Quantaray lens on eBay last week. Intrigured by the low price (I got it for $9 shipped!) I decided to take a gamble. The $30ish FD to EOS adapter arrived today. (I swear, it takes a PhD in engineering to use that damn thing! )

I have no focus confirmation, which I knew--I partially wanted this for a learning experience. Metering does work so far as exposure but I am on my own with fstop. Basically, I wanted to try this to make myself think.

I ran out the back door and shot these. I forgot to change from ISO 400. No PP has been done other than resize. All things considered, I am thinking it shows potential.

I am working on shooting manual only and I try to avoid flash. Suggestions to help me learn more?

Suggestions for focusing other than just pay really close attention and follow my instincts?
