Question re: Problem with Mozilla Firefox

I'm having a problem with Mozilla Firefox. After about five to ten minutes of use, it freezes and I get a not on the top line (Header ?) that shows that it not responding.

Next I get the Windows box asking if I want to send an error report, which I did send. When I looked at the "More Details" section, Windows said it was a Mozilla Firefox problem with a link to Mozilla. I followed the link and downloaded and installed Mozilla Firefox 1.05.06, which I already had on the computer.

After doing this twice and having the same problem, I un-installed Mozilla Firefox and then re-installed it. I'm still having the same problem.

Are any of you folks having the same problem? How did you fix it?

Please remember that I know very little about these "devil's devices" but I can follow instructions that tell me were to click and what not to click.

Thanks for your time.

John

You may need to clear your temp files.Download and install Ccleaner,

Earlier versions of Java can cause Firefox to hang, also newest version has security updates,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I failed to mention that I ran CCleaner, twice, did a disc clean-up, and am running a defragment now.

I'll try the Java update next.

Thank you,

John

I find it best to uninstall Java and do a clean install of the new version instead of updating.

Should I un-install all Java items or just certain sections?

When you unistall or install software don't run Ccleaner until you restart the PC.
