Ruger Mk Series Top End Interchangablility

Do they interchange? It seems to me the top ends will work on any Ruger Mk frame but not been able to confirm it.

I have installed the 22/45 upper on a MKIII lower.
I did not however fire it, so I don't know if it would work.

Braver than I am, my fear was something would get stuck. Looking at TacSol uppers they aren't listed as fitting a 22/45, Mk III, etc. so it makes me think they do interchange. I have a top end and if any bottom end fit it opens up a lot more options for me.

Sarona Gun Works

There's a gunsmith on rimfirecentral.com that seems to be familiar with all these Ruger variants. He owns Sarona Gun Works I think. You might give him a shout.

To be fair to the Ruger.

My 22/45 is nearly 20 years old, and fits loose to the frame. Not loose enough to cause trouble, but loose enough to remove from the lower frame without tools.

My MKIII is fairly new. Built some time in the last few years, with a fit so tight you need to knock it off with a rubber mallet.
The 22/45 upper fit snuggly to the MKIII lower, but did not need to be knocked on. Since the mainspring housing assembly is different. I locked it all together with the MKIII MSHA.

The bolt worked smoothly and locked back on an empty magazine. It was enough to confirm in my mind you could do it, but that's as far as I went.

The uppers both look the same to my eye. I can't guarantee they would fire like that though.
