CVN 69 - IKE - need an authentic ballcap.

I made two cruises on the Ike and would like an authentic new USS Dwight D Eisenhower ballcap as sold on the ships stores. I would be very greatful of anyones help in this request and will pay for the hat and shipping.

I'll see what I can do about getting you one -- we're in the IKE battle group. Give me a couple of weeks.

Navy87Guy,

Thanks in advance. Hope all is going well for you and the Ike battle group. I spent quite a few days onboard the Ike and it is an awesome carrier, along with it's battle group. Thanks for your service and many of us in the states do appreciate our military and their role. Don't ever let the liberal media convince you otherwise.
Carry On!

Truckstop cop,
I retired off the Ike in 1979 after a couple years precom and more after commissioning. I remember it well. Big, grey, flat on top and loaded with airplanes.

and loud, very loud!!!!! i recall being on a train in Portugal and as we rode along the track we came to an area near the bay and i looked over and saw that big ol ship and i felt damn proud to be onboard such a giant show of force, i mean that ship just dwarfed everything around her. i would not trade the experience i had on that carrier for nothing..

Tea Kettle -

I'm still working on the ball cap for you. IKE just finished with INSURV so they've been a little preoccupied. My buddy is the Chief Engineer onboard, so I'm going to trade him a ball cap from my ship for one from IKE. Do you want it with or without the "scrambled eggs" on the brim? Your choice -- I can get it either way.

If I don't get it this week, then it will take about a month...we're going to be underway until mid-May.

Jim

The scrambled eggs would be awesome. Either style is fine. Whatever is the easiest.

Thanks,

I got a hat for my dad for Christmas from here. He's a plank owner for the USS Flint, but wasn't notified when his ship was de-commissioned.

My brother is currently at Great Lakes. Graduation date is tentatively set for March 2nd. Can't wait to go see him!
