I'm looking for some suggestions, comments or experiences regarding challenge coins. These set would be for police officers, but the info I am looking for is generic to the coins themselves.

Looking for pictures, design do-s and don't-s, size preferences, epoxy coatings, colours etc.

I've visited the manufacturers websites, so I know what they offer, I am looking for real first-hand experience.
