I chanced upon this beauty..my friend said it will be up for sale soon. Any opinions how much this would sell?

If the parts and finish (on both the gun and suppressor) are still original, it could fetch a nice price.

no prob 9MX. sounds like the suppressor is an original too. it may fetch you a good price to collectors as isuzu has mentioned. let's just hope the suppressor hasn't outlived it's life. the dB ratings deteriorate with use and time. i would keep it though if i had one. probably issued to special operatives during the war.

Mannix, when you take photos of it next time, can you please close in on the markings on the slide and frame?

Some other things I want to know:

1) Is that the original barrel? If not, is the original barrel
included in the sale?

2) What's included in the sale?

Try searching on the web if the suppressor is a wet type or dry type. If it's a wet type, you just apply the wire mesh with grease or similar material, and it should work fine.

9mx, try posting the pics at the m1911 forum, and ask if somebody could properly identify it and give its proper designation. That way, you can do further research on the pistol.
