Farewell Salute to Msgt. William T. Warren

My Father in Law, Master Sergeant William Thomas Warren, was killed in Iraq a few days ago. The army officials just left my Mother in Law's house a few hours ago after informing her that he was killed in action. He had given one of his men a day off and was standing in as "door gunner" on one of their Blackhawks, when according to eyewitness reports it was shot down. There were no survivors.

He was a great man and you could never have asked for a greater Father in Law.

A good man has given his life while serving our country for us. I think we all need to give him a Farewell Salute. Do me, my wife, and her newly widowed mom a favor. Next time you go out shooting, dedicate 21 rounds to him, and all of our troops that have given their lives in service to our country throughout history.

Our prayers and thoughts are with your wife and mother-in-law.

21 shots will ring around the cabin in the a.m.

I often find myself wishing that I knew something more about my fallen brothers. Your father-in-law stood in for one of his men, and laid down his life in the process. I reckon I know the most important thing about him.

Thank you for sharing his story with us.

Rest in Peace.
If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen. -Samuel Adams
