iam moving to SW WEST MARION CO FL

does anyone know the gun laws?...

i have my CCW ok well

iam renting a house on a 1/2 acr and its a semi rule area can i open carry on my property? only ..... and is there any-other laws i should be aware of?


plus where is the closest range !!!!

Carry laws are uniform statewide; you have a CCW permit?

You can openly carry on your own property.. or the property you're renting.

The closest range isn't cheap or public and doesn't allow rifle calibers: www.osarange.com

The only public range in the county is the one in the Ocala National Forest on forest road 88; about an hour drive from southwest marion co. http://myfwc.com/huntered/Ocala_brochure2.pdf

A free-for-all with firearms.. not really my favorite place.

There are probably some ranges around Gainesville, about an hour north.

Welcome to Marion county, I live here also, Marion county is very gun friendly I can't think of any place that is posted, but no open carry except on your own land.

When you get in the area I can point you to a couple of indoor pistol ranges and there is a members only range in the shores you could join,

The only option for rifles is the forest, don't go on weekends and don't go alone.

Why would you move to Marion County? I live here but I am moving to Tennessee because Marion has one of the lowest economies in the country!

But one thing I will miss is the gun laws, although I dont think Tennessee's are too different. Marion county is pretty friendly to guns though.

Alot of people, LE included, support CCW permits. From my experience anyways. But of course as a rule of thumb, i dont announce it to the world. And as far as ranges go, take Dalton Wayne's advice. Private pistol ranges and go to the Range on Forest Road 88 with friends if possible.

Anyone fellow Marion Country GTers wanna meet at a range one day in the next few monthes before I leave? I thought I was the only one in Ocala that hung out on this site.
